The Ecosystem #
WooCommerce extensions are basically WordPress plugins that integrate with WooCommerce. They do all sorts of things to improve your store. They can:
- Add new product types to your store, such as product bundles and subscriptions
- Provide additional payment gateways, such as PayPal and Stripe
- Integrate your store with 3rd-party systems, such as shipping companies and financial platforms
- Enhance store functionality, such as multi-currency support and related products
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of extensions in the WooCommerce ecosystem. Some are built by the WooCommerce team, others by companies and developers that specialize in building WooCommerce extensions (like YITH and webtoffee), and still others by developers that solve unique problems or integrate their products with it.
Prices #
The base WooCommerce plugin is free (as are many WooCommerce extensions), so every WordPress website can become an online store. But the functionality it offers is limited and many stores use paid extensions to supplement it.
Paid extensions can have a wide range of prices. Some popular extensions, including the popular WooCommerce Subscriptions and WooCommerce Bookings extensions, can cost as much as 200 USD/year or more.
Those prices may seem quite reasonable to established businesses with a stable income. But they can be prohibitive for smaller businesses, especially when they’re just starting out.
Perks #
We offer a number of premium WooCommerce extensions as perks to our customers, though the supplies are usually limited.
Different extensions have different licensing mechanisms. We’ll add guides for the various extensions as needed.
